The State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Fair 2024 officially kicked off on July 9, 2024, at KCC Mall de Zamboanga with the theme “Weaving culture and innovations for transformative, resilient, and globally recognized Philippine higher education.” Hosted by Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), alongside Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), the event was graced by the presence of CHED Chairperson Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III, DPA, Higher Ed. Chairperson Congressman Mark Go, along with esteemed CHED Officials, Regional Directors, ZSCMST OIC-College President Dr. Danilo P. Corteza, various University and College Presidents, Directors, Staff, and Students.

The event commenced with vibrant cultural performances from various regions, showcasing their rich traditions and heritage.

The primary objective of the fair is to integrate cultural heritage with modern innovations, fostering a transformative and resilient Philippine higher education landscape. Scheduled from July 9 to July 11, 2024, the fair aims to highlight the creative union between traditional knowledge and advancements in academia.

Expected to draw many visitors, the fair features booths displaying products and innovations from each region, promoting local expertise and creativity on a national stage.

As the SUC Fair 2024 unfolds, it promises to be a celebration of Philippine diversity, innovation, and educational excellence, embodying the spirit of collaboration and progress in higher education.
