At least a dozen youth scholars of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology were merited with their benefactor anew, Saturday.

La Hermandad Zamboangueña Fundacion, Inc. has been supporting scholars since 1960, through its socio civic sponsor Mrs. Rose Lamb Sobrepeña, a Zamboangueña born, and known for her literature about the beloved and colorful stories of the City of Flowers.

ZSCMST Dr. Roy Valesco accompanied the 12 scholars in a meet and greet event. Aside from ZSCMST, scholars were also invited from Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic University, and Western Mindanao State University.

The foundation has long held the mission that youth empowerment is possible through education, regardless of the beneficiaries’ status. The event served as a commitment of the foundation to continue supporting scholars who are enrolled in the 3 institutions.
