A group of representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways visited the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology to conduct structural integrity tests on selected infrastructures.
According to College President Dr. Roy L. Valesco, the request for an edifice assessment was made in consideration of the safety of students and building occupants, as well as the College’s future infrastructure plans.
The structural evaluation was conducted using the Rebound Hammer Test and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test on several buildings to ensure the safety of students and employees. This marks the first such evaluation in many years.
The activity is also in line with the Nationwide Earthquake Drill scheduled for March 2026.
