The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), conducted the Citizenship Symposium on September 27, 2025, at the MCLL Gymnasium, ZSCMST.

The highlight of the symposium was the discussion delivered by Mr. Alinasser Alfad Yusop, MSMB, JD, who underscored the importance of the Constitution as the “fundamental law of the land.” He emphasized the need to understand how the Constitution strengthens the values of citizenship, responsibility, and nation-building among students. His lecture also covered the rights, mandates, duties, and responsibilities of Filipino citizens.

The symposium aimed to instill a sense of civic consciousness and responsibility in students, equipping them with the knowledge and values necessary to become law-abiding and service-oriented citizens.

As ZSCMST continues to uphold its mandate of academic excellence and social responsibility, the College reaffirms its commitment to nurturing responsible citizens who will contribute to the progress of both the community and the nation.
