The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) formally concluded the 2025 AACCUP Accreditation Online Survey Visit with an Exit Cum Closing Program on September 26, 2025, at the Audio Visual Room, ZSCMST.

After the 5-day online survey visit, the accreditors provided their general impressions, acknowledging the College’s efforts and commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

Dr. Marlon R. Pereña, AACCUP Coordinator for PSV and Level 1, noted that the institution is “headed by competent and qualified officials who provide strategic leadership and ensure that academic and administrative functions are effectively carried out.” He also highlighted how the programs systematically complied with COPC standards and institutional policies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez, Jr., Senior Accreditor and Team Leader, emphasized that the completion of this accreditation process is “more than just a significant accomplishment.” He commended ZSCMST for its unwavering dedication to students and academic quality, noting that this milestone strengthens the institution’s reputation, enhances its value, and creates greater opportunities for its alumni. He described the achievement as a testament to the collective hard work and determination of the ZSCMST community, paving the way for an even brighter future.

Responding on behalf of College President Dr. Roy L. Valesco, Dr. Rachel D. Lauriaga, Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed the College’s commitment to act decisively on the recommendations provided. “We see your findings as a blueprint for growth and a genuine opportunity to strengthen our academic offerings. It is our commitment to transform the findings presented into concrete action plans,” she affirmed.

The successful completion of the survey visit marks another important milestone in ZSCMST’s continuous pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance.
