The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology, through the 627th Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit, held its ROTC graduation ceremony for Academic Year 2025 at the MCLL Gymnasium today, May 27, 2025, with the theme โ€œSailing Towards Nation-Building: Celebrating NSTP Excellence.โ€

ROTC is part of the institutionโ€™s commitment to shaping students not only academically, but also as future leaders rooted in service and patriotism.

โ€œMay you therefore take with you a lifetime mission to serve, lead, and inspire,โ€ ZSCMST President Dr. Roy L. Valesco urged in his speechโ€”words that underscore how ROTC graduates can become valuable contributors to their communities and to the nation.

Keynote speaker and Commandant of the 627th NROTCU, Capt. Wendelboy Z. Buntag PN (GSC), reminded the graduates to live out the core values of leadership, service, and civic responsibility that ROTC has instilled in them.

Today, the graduates stood as young citizensโ€”ready to lead with discipline, serve with purpose, and inspire by example. This is the true spirit of the ROTC.
