The Physical Education Department of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) successfully held its PATHFIT 2 & 4 Culminating Activity on May 9, 2025, with the theme “Move, Groove and Celebrate Fitness.” This activity was graced by Mr. Roderick D. Trio, Vice President of Student Affairs and Academic Services.
The day kicked off with a lively Color Fun Run, where students dashed through colorful bursts of powder, energizing the start of the festivities. This was followed by a Zumba session, where participants danced to upbeat music.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was the Laro ng Lahi, which featured a lineup of traditional Filipino games, such as luksong baka, kadang-kadang, chinese garter, jackstone, patintero, shatu, piko, and sipa. These games not only promoted physical activity but also helped preserve and celebrate Filipino culture.
The students also participated in the Volleyball Games, Rave Disco, Fitness Making Booth Contest, and Movie Marathon.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of the Department Chair for Physical Education, Dr. Marylou F. Schuck, and the invaluable support of the PE Faculty members: Dr. Elenieta A. Capacio, Dr. Dante Ramirez, Mr. Rolando S. Dublado, Mr. Benjie Mahasol, Mr. Noel Gula, Mr. Anton Rouel Gregorio, and Ms. Pia Fritzie P. Luna.
Special thanks are also extended to the Physical Education Society Officers and the Red Cross Youth Council Officers.
The PATHFIT Culminating Activity reflected ZSCMST’s commitment to promote holistic student development through physical education, cultural preservation, and community involvement.
