The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) is conducting a three-day online accreditation survey at Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) from December 11 to 13, 2024. This virtual setup allows creditors to evaluate via Zoom.

The programs under review are the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSME) and the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT), both offered by the College of Maritime Education.

During the opening program, OIC-College President Mr. Roderick D. Trio expressed strong support for the accreditation process, highlighting ZSCMST’s commitment to excellence and adherence to high-quality educational standards.

Level 4 accreditation signifies excellence in higher education, reflecting advanced quality assurance, research capabilities, and alignment with both national and international standards. Achieving this milestone demonstrates ZSCMST’s dedication to academic and institutional growth.

Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr., AACCUP’s lead accreditor for the BSMT program, provided an overview of the accreditation process, emphasizing its collaborative nature and importance.

On the first day of the survey, task forces for the BSMT and BSME programs diligently reviewed and refined their program documentation, laying a solid foundation for the evaluators’ rigorous assessments in the days to follow.
