The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (VPREI), led by Dr. Rufa L. Mendez, is conducting the three-day Research Evaluation Dissemination Summit (REDS) 2024 from December 10 to 12, 2024, at the Octagon Hall, ZSCMST.

REDS 2024 marks a significant milestone as the first event of its kind in ZSCMST, designed to celebrate the dedication of researchers and address challenges in their respective fields. The summit aims to communicate ongoing initiatives and accomplishments to a broader audience, fostering a deeper appreciation of research within the community. It also provides a platform for sharing expertise and gaining constructive feedback from a panel of esteemed evaluators.

The panel includes:

• Dr. Marvin A. Maulion, Director, Research Project Development Unit of WMSU-RESEL;

• Dr. Joel G. Fernando, Vice President for Research, Extension Services, and External Linkages of WMSU;

• Dr. Azul DL Lacson, Director for Research of ZPPSU;

• Dr. Rufa L. Mendez, ZSCMST’s very own Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension.

The event features project and research presentations, where researchers showcase their innovative studies and initiatives. Each presentation undergoes critical evaluation, encouraging improvement while recognizing the researchers’ contributions to knowledge and development in various fields.

Through activities like REDS 2024, ZSCMST strengthens its commitment to advancing research excellence, promoting collaborations, and highlighting the role of innovation in addressing societal needs.
