The highly anticipated ROTC Games 2024 Mindanao Qualifying Leg officially kicked off at the Joaquin Memorial Sports Complex on June 23, 2024. This event, spanning from June 23 to 28, 2024, promises a week filled with intense competition across various sports, showcasing the athletic skills of ROTC cadets from Colleges and Universities across Mindanao.

Athletes are set to compete in a variety of sports, including chess, kickboxing, sepak takraw, swimming, taekwondo, target shooting, volleyball, arnis, basketball, boxing, and table tennis.

The opening ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Senator Francis Tolentino, serving as the Honorary Chairman of the ROTC Games, the City Mayor of Zamboanga, Hon. John Dalipe and Ms. Nadia Montenegro representing Senator Robinhood Ferdinand Padilla. Representatives from the Department of National Defense, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) added to the event’s significance, emphasizing the government’s support for youth development through sports.

Also present were Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, University President of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), Military Officers from various units across Mindanao, and other distinguished guests.

The ROTC Games 2024 Mindanao Qualifying Leg promises to be a thrilling event, celebrating the spirit of camaraderie and the enduring values of duty, honor, and service upheld by ROTC cadets.
