AACCUP Virtual Exit Conference Cum Closing Program

From April 22-24, 2024, four (4) programs underwent evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), marking a significant phase in their academic development. The following programs who submitted for evaluation were: Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, and Master in Public Management.

Throughout the three-day survey visit, AACCUP auditors meticulously assessed various aspects of academic quality, institutional performance, and effectiveness for their programs, ensuring educational standards were met and exceeded.

On the final day, April 24th, 2024 is the culmination of this accreditation, during a virtual exit conference cum closing program held virtually, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr., the esteemed AACCUP Senior Accreditor and Coordinator, expressed his gratitude for the ZSCMST community and shared detailed general impressions for each program, highlighting strengths and areas for growth observed during the survey visit. His insights provided valuable guidance for further enhancement of academic excellence. He ended with his speech with the saying “Perfection is not attainable but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”

On behalf of the College President, Dr. Jaime G. Jalon, Dr. Danilo P. Corteza, Director for Administrative Services and the College Official Caretaker, conveyed a heartfelt response and commitment echoing the dedication of faculty and staff to maintaining quality standards and promoting continuous improvement.

Awarding of certificates to the AACCUP Survey Team was also done during the program by Prof. Esther T. Lim, Director of the Quality Assurance Office, to show appreciation for their dedication and professionalism. As the program concludes, Dr. Rufa R. Mendez, Vice President for Research, Extension and, Innovation delivered her closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all accreditors for their support throughout the accreditation process and acknowledging the collective efforts of the faculty invested in the pursuit of academic excellence.

In conclusion, the AACCUP survey visit was crucial for these colleges’ accreditation journey. It showed their dedication to quality education and their readiness to embrace feedback and strive for continuous improvement.
