The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) is currently conducting a thorough three-day accreditation survey at Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) from April 22 to 24, 2024. This accreditation process is being facilitated online to enable participation from accreditors across different regions via Zoom. The programs undergoing accreditation include Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and Master in Public Management. Task forces responsible for these programs have submitted their documents in a narrative report format for the accreditors’ online review, which aims to validate the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality education for students to excel academically and professionally.

Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr., serves as the Senior Accreditor and Coordinator of AACCUP for this visit. Additionally, other distinguished accreditors such as Dr. Suzette Q. Palla, Dr. Daisy G. Cari-an, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo have been assigned to assess the chosen areas of Research and Faculty Development for the Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. Dr. Francis N. Baleta, Dr. Elsie J. Cacho, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo are assigned to evaluate the mandatory areas of Instruction and Extension, as well as chosen areas of Faculty Development and Library for the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries. Similarly, Dr. Ronald M. Ramirez, Dr. Jeanneth F. Darocca, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo are tasked with evaluating the mandatory areas of Extension and Instruction, as well as chosen areas of Faculty Development and Library for the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. Lastly, Dr. Ronnie R. Parica, Dr. Rosalie C. Leal, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo are designated to assess the mandatory areas of Instruction and Research, as well as chosen areas of Faculty Development and Library for the Master in Public Management.

ZSCMST remains steadfast in its dedication to enhancing the caliber of its programs as it strives to meet AACCUP’s quality requirements for Level III Phase 2 accreditation.
