ZSCMST’s President Jaime G. Jalon and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Alvin C. Reyes, attended a pre-plenary budget hearing on September 18, 2023, to secure funding for the future of education in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The event attracted distinguished attendees and highlighted the college’s dedication to efficiently using funds. ZSCMST’s delegation included key figures from the accounting office, budget officer, planning officer, and inspectorate.

The pre-plenary budget hearing also allowed ZSCMST to address the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), which manages state universities and colleges (SUCs). Thanks to the designated Chair of ZSCMST for the support, CHED Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre, who emphasized the value of higher education for the area and the country. The next step in securing financial support for ZSCMST and other SUCs is the upcoming plenary budget discussion on September 21, 2023.
