Quezon City, Philippines, September 22, 2026- Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology President Dr. Roy L. Valesco attended with other Mindanao State Universities and Colleges Presidents and Officials the pre-plenary House Hearing for Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Proposal, at the Nograles Hall, House of Representatives, Tuesday.

The House Committee on Appropriations reviewed financial overview, major thrusts, ongoing and upcoming programs, significant projects, income, major accomplishments and budget executions. The pre-plenary hearing was presided over by Vice Chairman Pangasinan Representative Arthur Celeste. Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, CHED commissioners, and SUC Presidents from Mindanao Regions IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga and BARMM. Earlier, the House Committee heard SUC Presidents from Luzon and Visayas.

The pre-plenary is a pre-requisite to deliberations on Wednesday, September 23, before final budget for SUCs is presented to the 20th House of Congress, and eventually the Senate.
