Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology will turn another page in history after being chosen to co-host the WorldSkills Philippines in 2027, a showcase and competition of talents and skills led by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Formally called the Philippine National Skills Competition.

Worldskills is also a development program for young Filipino talented professionals who compete in international events such as the ASEAN Skills Competition and Worldskills International.

ZSCMST is co-hosting Worlskills National with Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. Both institutions were selected by votes during the 3rd General Assembly of WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026, in Pampanga on September 11.

ZSCMST will welcome at least 300 competitors from no more than 18 regions with 30 skill categories. Chosen to be part of an event that showcases talents all over the country and to the world, the event will not only motivate, but expose and enhance capabilities of students to become professional to international competition and standards.
