2026 Study in Taiwan: INTENSE Program Education Fair

Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), represented by President Dr. Roy L. Valesco, the Director of the Internationalization and Linkages Office Dr. Abee M. Eijansantos, the Deputy Director of the Internationalization and Linkages Office Mr. Gerome B. Avila along with Dr. Marlon Ochoa, and Dr. Roderick Trio, participated in the 2026 Study in Taiwan: INTENSE Program Education Fair, a gathering that brought together Philippine higher education institutions and leading universities from Taiwan.

The event provided a valuable setting for ZSCMST to explore emerging avenues for international academic engagement. Dr. Valesco’s presence underscored the College’s commitment to expanding opportunities that can contribute to the academic and professional advancement of its students and faculty. Throughout the fair, Dr. Eijansantos and Mr. Avila immersed themselves in conversations with representatives from participating Taiwanese universities, examining prospective connections in student and faculty mobility, academic cooperation, and scholarship opportunities.

Particular attention was given to pathways for undergraduate and graduate studies in Taiwan, including opportunities that may provide financial support, specialized training, international exposure, and stronger professional prospects. The discussions also offered insight into how prospective partnerships could extend beyond individual scholarships toward sustained academic relationships involving research, faculty development, and institutional exchange.

The fair consequently served as more than an exhibition of educational programs. It became a fertile ground for initiating conversations that may develop into concrete opportunities for the ZSCMST community. Through meaningful engagement with Taiwanese counterparts, the delegation gained a clearer appreciation of the possibilities available for learners and educators seeking to broaden their academic horizons.

ZSCMST’s participation affirmed its continuing pursuit of purposeful internationalization—one that transforms encounters into connections, connections into partnerships, and partnerships into opportunities that can shape the academic futures of its people. #
