ZSCMST Joins the 3rd Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Emergency alarm shrilled across the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology as students, faculty members, and employees practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” while inside classrooms and offices. They then proceeded in an orderly manner down the stairs and quietly moved toward the designated open grounds.

ZSCMST joins the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today, September 10, 2026, with thousands of students and personnel participating in this quarter’s simulation.

The school’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) adheres to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology’s (PHIVOLCS) call to actively promote preparedness and awareness among citizens in times of earthquakes and other seismic events.

The drill concluded safely, with no students, faculty members, or personnel harmed during the activity. Through preparedness, awareness, and collective action, we continue to build a safer and more resilient ZSCMST community. #
