ZAMBOANGA STATE COLLEGE OF MARINE SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY
Center of Excellence in Fisheries
The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), through the Quality Assurance Office, is conducting the SUITS (Streamlining and Updating ISO Trends and Standards) Training Workshop from August 11 to 14, 2026.
The four-day training is divided into two batches. The first batch, composed of administrative personnel, is being held on August 11–12, while the second batch, for teaching personnel, will be held on August 13–14, 2026.
The training serves as part of the College’s preparation for the September 2026 ISO Surveillance Visit, providing personnel with an opportunity to review existing systems and processes, address areas that need improvement, and ensure that quality practices remain responsive to the College’s current needs.
More than preparation for an external assessment, the training focuses on three practical objectives:
Streamline — make processes clearer, more practical, and easier to sustain.
Update — keep systems and procedures responsive to current needs, trends, and applicable standards.
Strengthen — build a Quality Management System that supports the work of personnel rather than adding unnecessary burden to their work.
Through discussions, workshops, and practical exercises, participants are encouraged to examine how existing processes are implemented in their respective offices and areas, identify gaps, and determine ways to make these processes more effective and sustainable.
The SUITS Training Workshop reflects ZSCMST’s continuing effort to ensure that quality management is not limited to compliance, but is integrated into the way the College works—through systems that are clear, relevant, responsive, and continuously improved.
