CHED–MARINA Onsite Follow-up Verification

Congratulations to the College of Maritime Education!

The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), through its College of Maritime Education (CME), has successfully demonstrated COMPLIANCE during the CHED–MARINA Onsite Follow-up Verification conducted on July 8, 2026, at the Octagon Hall.

Based on the findings of the monitoring team, all findings identified during the previous verification have been 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭. This confirms the College’s continued compliance with the policies, standards, and requirements set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), reflecting its commitment to delivering quality maritime education and training.

The verification activity was graced by Dr. Farida T. Cunanan, Regional Director of MARINA Regional Office IX, while the onsite evaluation was conducted by the monitoring team composed of Engr. Jose Romualdo Q. Denzon, Capt. Joselito L. Buñag, and Ms. Jelica Aubrey S. Tuliao.

ZSCMST extends its sincere appreciation to the CHED–MARINA monitoring team for their guidance, professionalism, and commitment throughout the verification process. The College likewise expresses its gratitude to its administrators, the task force, and students whose collective efforts contributed to this positive outcome.

ZSCMST remains steadfast in its commitment to sustaining quality maritime education, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and continuously enhancing its academic and training programs in preparation for the evolving demands of the maritime industry.
