The College of Business and Management of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology successfully conducted the 2nd Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony of the fourth-year BS Hospitality Management students on February 2, 2026, at Palacio Del Sur.

The event marked a significant academic and professional milestone for the students, highlighting their perseverance, commitment, and readiness to uphold the standards and values of their chosen field. The pinning and candle lighting rites served as a reminder of their responsibilities as future hospitality professionals and the passion required to excel in service-oriented careers.

Ms. Ainee Lim, esteemed guest speaker, delivered an inspirational message to the students. She said, “Challenges of poverty are not a hindrance to following your dreams; they are part of your journey.” She further encouraged the students to remain resilient, persistent, and steadfast in pursuing their goals, reminding them that “as long as you don’t give up, you will reach your destination.”

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of motivation among the students as they prepare to take the next step toward their professional journey in the hospitality industry.
