The Quality Assurance Office of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) conducted the SUITS (Streamlining and Updating ISO Trends and Standards) Workshops held on October 21-24, 2025, at the Octagon Hall. To ensure focused participation and engagement, the activity is divided into two clusters: October 21โ22, 2025 for the Academic cluster and October 23โ24, 2025 for the Administrative cluster.
This initiative aims to strengthen the Collegeโs commitment to continuous quality improvement and readiness for the upcoming ISO 9001:2015 Stage 2 Audit.
College President Dr. Roy L. Valesco emphasized the importance of the activity, highlighting that the journey toward ISO certification is not solely about compliance but about cultivating a culture of excellence across all levels of the institution.
โThe Stage 2 will be more challenging, and thatโs why this activity is very important. This activity will guide us as we address the observations and opportunities for improvement raised during our Stage 1 audit. This is not merely about standards and documentsโitโs about building a culture where excellence becomes our norm, where we hold ourselves accountable and take pride in a great result. Letโs start the improvement where we are, in our offices, in our workstations, in our small ways. When everyone does their part, the whole college grows stronger and more capable together,โ Dr. Valesco said.
The SUITS Workshops reaffirm ZSCMSTโs dedication to quality assurance and institutional development, ensuring that all processes and operations are aligned with the Collegeโs mission to deliver quality education and services that meet global standards.
