The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), through the College of Liberal Arts (CLA), conducted a Seminar and Roundtable Discussion on “Currents and Trends in English Language Teaching” and a Research Colloquium on “Language and Linguistics” on October 4, 2025, at the Audio-Visual Room, ZSCMST.

The event served as a platform for educators, researchers, and language practitioners to present their studies, share insights, and discuss recent developments in English language teaching and research. Participants explored various methods, theories, and emerging perspectives in language education—particularly on how English is taught, learned, and applied across academic and professional settings.

The roundtable sessions also encouraged discussions on language competencies, communication in professional contexts, and the challenges faced by both learners and educators in developing effective English proficiency.

Through this initiative, ZSCMST reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, research advancement, and the continuous growth of its faculty and students, particularly in the field of English language development.
