The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) held the Launching of CURRENTS and WAVES, Awarding of EnABLEReX Grantees, and Turnover of the PCRA Technical Report on April 11, 2025, at Octagon Hall.

This activity was organized by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (OVPRIE), led by OIC-VP Dr. Maila V. Pan.

College President Dr. Roy L. Valesco opened the program with a powerful message: โ€œThis is a proud moment for all of us, a platform that will showcase the intellectual progress of our students, faculty, and researchers, while also serving as a repository of innovative ideas that can influence meaningful change. This initiative reflects our vision of producing well-rounded individuals prepared to face real-world challenges through hands-on experience and academic value.โ€

Dr. Valesco emphasized the importance of research in driving sustainable development, innovation, and resilience. He also expressed confidence in the transformative impact of the granteesโ€™ contributions, encouraging the ZSCMST community to continue fostering an environment of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

The ceremony was graced by key college officials, including Dr. Alvin C. Reyes, Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF).

-Presentation of Editorial Board ‘CURRENTS’: Dr. Gefilloyd L. De Castro (representing Dr. Armand H. Lee)

-Presentation of WAVES: Ms. Jeanette M. Reyes

-Turnover of PCRAT technical Report (PROGRESIBUCO): Mr. Marlon R. Omatang

-Awarding of EnABLEReX Grantees: Ms. Aldette D. Navarro

Finally, during the closing remarks, Dr. Maila V.
