The College of Teacher Education (CTE) and the College of Liberal Arts <\/a>(CLA) conducted an extension activity at Tumaga National High School (TNHS) as part of Project ASCEND: Advancing School Competence through Evidence-based Needs Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity supports the ongoing Kaagapay sa Teaching-Learning Competencies (Ka-TLC) program, which aims to strengthen the professional development of public school teachers by addressing their instructional and pedagogical needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the Electronic Self-Assessment Tool (e-SAT) results of TNHS teachers, the training focused on key development areas such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Designing lessons that promote higher-order thinking<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Building school\u2013community partnerships<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Enhancing multilingual proficiency<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Aligning lessons with MELCs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strengthening reflective practice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Improving assessment literacy and feedback<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Integrating literacy, numeracy, and culturally responsive strategies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several prepared training sessions will also be conducted in the coming weeks to further support the identified needs of TNHS teachers and sustain their professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This extension activity also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by promoting teacher competence and strengthening collaboration between institutions and public schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
