As part of the ongoing celebration of SiyenSaya 2024, day 1 of the 5-day Coastal Resource Management (CRM) Training was held at the ZSCMST Octagon Hall on September 19, 2024. The training day was packed with lectures aimed at educating participants on the importance and key components of coastal resource management.

The training began by a rationale, provided by Mr. Rolando E. Pelinggon, Head of the Coastal Resource Management Research Center.

The key sessions were led by Dr. Wilfredo L. Campos of the DOST-NRCP. He began with a comprehensive Introduction to CRM and was followed by an insightful presentation on the Key Components in CRM.

During the afternoon session, the participants engaged in a synthesis and workshop focused on CRM Plan Preparation, where they expressed their interested roles in the CRM Plan.

The CRM Training is just one of the many activities under Siensaya 2024 that highlight the importance of preserving the maritime and archipelagic resources.
